Equipment

  • food processor

Ingredients

  • 3 cups dry roasted peanuts
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey
  • ½-¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons avocado oil optional, for a thinner texture

Instructions

  1. Add the peanuts to a food processor or high-powered blender. Blend for 3–5 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed. The peanuts will go from crumbly, to thick paste, to clumpy before finally becoming smooth and creamy.
  2. Once smooth, add the honey and sea salt. Blend again until fully combined.
  3. If you prefer a thinner, drippy peanut butter, blend in 1–2 teaspoons avocado oil.
  4. Transfer the peanut butter to a glass jar with a lid and store at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Be patient while blending. The peanuts will go through several stages before becoming creamy. Keep blending and scraping the sides of the processor.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste. Start with 1 tablespoon of honey and add more if you prefer a sweeter peanut butter.
  • Oil is optional. Peanuts naturally release oils while blending, but adding 1–2 teaspoons of avocado oil will create a thinner, drippier texture.
  • Stir before using if needed. Natural oils may rise to the top during storage. Simply stir to bring it back to a smooth consistency.
