Easy Sweet Buffalo Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup hot sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • Pinch of salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, whisking constantly, to remove the raw flour taste.
  3. Slowly whisk in the hot sauce until smooth.
  4. Add the brown sugar, honey (if using), garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 3–5 minutes, whisking often, until thick and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit 2 minutes to thicken further.
  7. Taste and add a pinch of salt if needed. Serve warm.

  • Simmer gently over medium-low heat and whisk to keep the sauce smooth.
